I'm thrilled to announce that after an incredible first look at #TIFF23, @mountainqueenmovie has been acquired by Netflix! Back in 2018, alongside a devoted team comprising Dalia Burde, DP [{Devin Whetstone#!#11e5b692-6c90-4040-a4e9-8c487304f8c4}] , Amani King, and Avocados and Coconuts, I embarked on a remarkable journey to capture the extraordinary life of Lhakpa Sherpa. Little did we know that our dream would lead us to this moment. As any dedicated documentary filmmaker would do, throughout this project, I wore many hats, but I’m most proud of my role as a producer and as 2nd Unit Director (Nepal, Everest, Hartford USA). I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team, including director Lucy Walker, OBB Media, SK Global Entertainment, and the tireless production and post-production crew. Special shout out to Portrait members [{Matthew Irving#!#775634f9-7ca6-4650-9de5-16fa5c50986f}], our fearless high-altitude DP, who literally took this film to new heights, and [{Tahria Sheather#!#09bef80a-41da-4032-b760-f55342490e22}] 2nd Unit Director and field producer on Everest, who ventured all the way to camp 3 in the death zone to support our vision.
