Some of my favorite moments of the Eisenhower Luxury Jewelry Collection Video I produced and directed a few months ago featuring some of the most sought after jewelry of Anne Eisenhower, granddaughter of President Dwight Eisenhower.  
The Magnificent Jewels of Anne Eisenhower totaled $11,521,260 .The sale featured a stunning assemblage of jewelry from the most important houses. The top lot was the iconic ‘Jarretière’ ruby and diamond bracelet, acquired by Marlene Dietrich in 1937 from Van Cleef & Arpels. @vancleefarpels The bracelet realized $4,527,000.

The actor Richard Gere is best known for his leading roles in romantic film dramas and comedies such as An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) and Pretty Woman (1990), which elevated him to international stardom. Now 72, it should perhaps come as no surprise that a man whose image has appeared countless times in the media over the past four decades also has an avid interest in photography.

Months ago, I interviewed the inspiring Diane von Fuerstenberg, who gifted me her book. Her words, like "the most important relationship is with yourself" and "you're your own refuge," deeply resonated with me and my friend Dandara Veiga.  It inspired us to create this fashion film and we hope it will encourage others to stay true to themselves and realize the power to shape their lives the way they want.

Infused with the vivid and raw culture of New York’s Lower East Side (colloquially known as the Loisaida), the John P. Axelrod Collection represents a distinct moment in art history and American culture as one of the best collections of 1980s New York street art in private hands. The decade leading up to the 1980s was marked with civil unrest, fierce activism and seismic cultural shifts, what Axelrod refers to as “a roiling environment for the emergence of new and exciting art forms.” These conditions gave rise to graffiti and street art, hip hop, fashion and new forms of expression that represented the raw realities of voices historically marginalized in the art canon. John Axelrod, the avant-garde Boston based collector, after being struck by the work of Martin Wong, embarked on a decade plus long hunt for best-in-class examples by Loisaida artists, such as David Wojnarowicz, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Blade, Crash, DONDI, Chris “Daze” Ellis, Futura 2000, and others who all defined American art in the 1980s.
