One day Sabina has a dream in which she sees a perfect place to live, far from civilization. In order to find it, she sets off for the Altai Mountains with her husband Sergei and their one-year-old daughter Yasya. The journey becomes a trial for the couple: Sabina has no desire to help with childcare, keeping things tidy or preparing meals, while Sergei grows weary of the never-ending drama. As their mutual resentment grows, Sabina’s dream becomes ever more detached from reality. But the journey goes on.

Gena, an artist from a small town in Russia, dresses in otherworldly costumes and protests on the streets of Moscow. She stages radical performances in public, which becomes a new form of art and activism and puts her life in danger.

'Out Of Place' is a documentary film project which inspires and catalyzes social change, tolerance and inclusion through the amazing power of documentary film. Ten short films were developed and produced by Filmmakers from Israel and Germany. Each short tells the story of someone feeling out of place, lonely or different. Each present different and diverse cinematic perspectives, tackling subject matters such as migration, minorities, discrimination and more. ¡Out of Place' gives visual form to their personal stories and explore the rewards and adversities of day-to-day cooperation between different people living together.
